Groton – Family room, Dining area

Located in a prestigious Groton subdivision, this colonial home was no longer suiting the needs of the growing family that lived within its walls. A family room was added as well as a basement game room with covered outdoor seating around the pool. The family room features a vaulted ceiling and custom built-in cabinetry. The space above the ceiling has been captured for a children’s “secret play space” that is accessed from a hinged bookcase in the bedroom. The kitchen eating area was expanded as well as a second floor bedroom. The expansive low maintenance deck accessed from both the kitchen and family room allows for ample outdoor entertaining space overlooking the pool. The roof rakes of the addition as well as the existing house were extended to provide more depth and character to the exterior of the home.
