Lead Carpenters / Carpenters

We are searching for intelligent, skilled, experienced, creative craftsmen who are motivated to complete high end remodeling projects. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry to company’s standard of quality and according to plans and specifications.
  • Be able to understand blueprint drawings and written specifications.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting 100 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Cabinet Finisher

Position Description: Platt Builders is seeking highly-skilled, motivated and experienced cabinet finisher to join our well-established custom cabinetry shop. Competitive hourly wage, health/life, paid vacation and holidays

  • Become an integral part of our 5 man custom cabinet shop.
  • Work as a team to accomplish the shop’s goals for production quality, accuracy and delivery dates.
  • Perform and work safely and follow all Company rules and procedures.
  • Position reports directly to Shop Supervisor.

Position Requirements:

  • Be able to prepare high quality custom cabinetry for finishing in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to tally and track materials used and record as needed.
  • Be responsible for the safe storage of flammable chemicals, products, and finishes that are used in the shop. Maintain MSDS sheets for these items.
  • Be attuned to the shop’s quality standards and confident and willing to stop a sub-standard piece in production and bring it to the attention of the Shop Foreman.
  • Be able to set up all equipment and machines safely and efficiently. Be able to do minor repairs and maintenance of equipment and machines.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in finishing cabinetry – preferably custom cabinetry
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting 100 pounds.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Experience with sanding, filling, leveling, masking & trouble shooting finish defects with ability to work at semi production pace to help finish face-frames, doors, drawers, shelves, glass doors, window sash, curved and elliptical work, standing and running trim, and specialties.
  • Individual must be self motivated & a self-starter with attention to detail; individual must be able to take direction well with the ability to prep and complete work independently.
  • Individual must be able to maintain a clean spray room and shop area at all times.
  • Ability to recognize & fix defects mid production and perform tasks repeatedly at the same high standard.
  • General knowledge of wood species and wood movement.

Cabinet Maker

We are always looking for skilled crafts people to add to our team. Basic woodworking knowledge and skills preferred. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Read plans and specifications, make cut-lists, check accuracy, think creatively, and share ideas that are appropriate to the project.
  • Set up all machines safely and efficiently. Perform minor repairs and maintenance of machines as needed.
  • Build high quality custom cabinetry in a timely fashion. Be familiar with traditional joinery and be able to produce it at a semi-production pace.
  • Be attuned to the shop’s quality standards and confident to stop a sub-standard piece in production and bring it to the attention of the Shop Foreman.
