At Platt Builders, our people are our key to success.  Collectively we have carefully developed a proven and effective method for approaching projects in a clear and thorough manner.  Our company’s size allows role specialization and task focus.  Our sales consultants set up our production team for success.  Our PM’s deliver on-time, on-budget, and make the process smooth. Our highly-skilled carpentry, cabinetry, and painting teams execute your project to our high standards.  We are the professionals, there with you every step of the way.

Sales and Marketing team

Our talented Sales team is responsible for defining and estimating your project correctly, ensuring that you know what will be done, what it will cost, and how long it will take.  We often get the feedback from prospective clients “Wow, you guys really listen!”  We do, and we tailor each project to the individual client – that is the nature of thoughtful custom construction.  We also hear that the transparency of our complex estimation system allows clients to make well-informed decisions for their project before any construction begins.  

Our Marketing team has the enviable task of telling the world about Platt Builders and the wide range of beautiful things that we can build for you. 

We are proud members of the communities in which we work. We support: Groton Community School, Groton Visitor's Center, Concord Museum, Emerson Hospital, Concord Chorale, Concord Holiday House Tour, Gleason Public Library, Carlisle Garden Club, and other entities and events.

Project management team

Project Management is the connective tissue that holds every project together, and our Project Managers can herd cats. Able to participate in the estimate and goal setting phase of the project, then manage it through to completion, our Project Managers have financial and critical time goals associated with each phase of the project and are in constant communication with clients to discuss progress.

Every member of our team is an expert in resource management and building construction techniques. In addition to the allocation of Platt labor, our Project Managers handle the subcontractors and hold them to the same exacting standard we hold our own employees to. Platt’s Project Management team is a key part of each project and a major piece of the success we constantly achieve.

Carpentry team

Platt’s field force of Finish Carpenters provides a superior level of quality craftsmanship, offering our clients the “final touch” – that aspect of the remodel that you, your family, and your guests will continue to talk about as the space is lived in. Our Finish Carpenters encounter the unforeseen complexities on-site and use their love of the materials and uncommon skill to respond to issues as they happen. It is part of our company’s culture to think for the long term always remembering that “it is better to build it correctly now” instead of coming back to talk about it and fix it later. It is a matter of pride in the craft of the trade. Our carpenters are true craftsmen.

Platt Cabinetry team

Nothing runs deeper in our DNA than the craft of custom cabinetmaking: three years before he founded Platt Builders, Halsey opened a custom cabinet shop in his barn in Groton, Massachusetts. Those early kitchens are still beautiful and functional thirty years later. Today our team of craftsmen work full-time building cabinetry and millwork in our 7,500sf facility. It’s our abiding passion to create beautiful cabinets of enduring quality and exceptional functionality for every room in your home.

Prismatic Painting by Platt Builders

In 2017, Steve Mahon combined his painting skills and business knowledge to create a paint contracting company that has focused on high-quality craftsmanship, customer satisfaction, and a positive work atmosphere. In 2021, he took Prismatic Painting to the next level becoming a part of Platt Builders. Prismatic’s mission hasn’t changed and, just like Platt Builders, our painters have built a reputation on the notion of doing things the right way the first time. We know that details matter.

Prismatic Painting by Platt Builders is available to paint any project in your home -- not solely ones built or renovated by Platt Builders. Our work is our art, and doing it right helps us all sleep at night.
